Abstract

This book explores the concept of post-abyssal democracies, which are democratic societies that have emerged from a history of colonialism and oppression. The authors argue that these democracies are characterized by a unique set of epistemologies, or ways of knowing, that are rooted in the experiences of the Global South. These epistemologies challenge the dominant Western epistemology and offer new ways of understanding the world.

The book is divided into three parts. The first part provides a theoretical framework for understanding post-abyssal democracies. The second part examines the challenges facing these democracies, such as poverty, inequality, and environmental degradation. The third part offers a vision for a more just and equitable future for post-abyssal democracies.
